    It is not always easy being a child. When your child is experiencing behavioral health problems, Live Well Family Counseling Services, Inc. is here to help. When moderate to severe, behavioral health problems can affect daily life at home, at school, or in the community. We’re here to help bring balance back to your child’s life by providing care in a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment.

    We offer a full range of behavioral health services for children ages 8 – 13 and adolescents ages 14 -17 experiencing mental, emotional, or behavioral problems.

    Overview:

    IOP- Mental Health Program

    -Duration: 8-10 weeks, 2 days a week for children, 3 days a week for adolescents

    -Age Groups: 8-12, 13-17

    -Time Commitment: 3 hours per day (2 days for children, 3 days for adolescents)

    -Modality: Whole Person (Individual, group and family sessions)

    PHP- Mental Health Program

    -Duration: 2 weeks, 5 Days a week

    -Age Groups: 8-12, 13-17

    -Time Commitment: 5-6 hours per day (5 days a week)

    -Modality: Whole Person (Individual, group and family sessions)

    Why Choose Our IOP/ PHP Mental Health Program

    Whole-Person Care: We provide comprehensive treatment that addresses all aspects of mental health care for children and teens. After a thorough assessment our care team will determine what specific needs will be provided to you child. These unique services may include youth psychiatrists, nurses, clinical and occupational therapists, teachers, case managers, social workers, chaplains, dieticians, or behavioral care assistants.

    Customized To Patient And Family: Our team creates a personalized care plan just for your child and family. We focus on supporting the entire family with the goal of restoring hope, courage, and resiliency.

    Mild To Moderate Treatment: Whether your child was recently discharged from hospitalization or has recently started to have difficulty with staying engaged with their family, school or community as a result to the severity of their mental health challenges we will be here to provide the case management necessary to piece together all the before, during and after care throughout all steps of your child’s mental health treatment journey.

    Return Home Each Day: With our intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs, your child can receive treatment during the day and return home each evening. We may also use this type of “step down” program following hospitalization for critical care.

    Conditions We Treat

    We provide treatment for illnesses related to depression, anxiety, attention deficits, trauma, obsessions and compulsions, pathological impulsivity, and psychosis.

    • Depression, officially known as major depressive disorder
    • Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD)
    • Separation anxiety disorder
    • Social anxiety disorder
    • ADHD, or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder
    • Intermittent explosive disorder
    • Oppositional defiant disorder (ODD)
    • PTSD, or post-traumatic stress disorder
    • Substance abuse disorders
    • OCD, or obsessive- compulsive disorder
    • Bipolar affective disorder

    We work with your child and adolescent with the understanding that their mental health conditions are interconnected to other parts of their lives, (i.e. one’s health, one’s sense of self, other relationships and commitments and obligations). For that reason, we work with a holistic approach to support the various dynamics of their lives and how their mental health plays a role.

    What To Expect

    We want you to know that we are here to support your child. At Live Well FCS we will provide services that are tailored to your child’s unique needs by a team of expert mental health professionals, including:

    • Psychiatrists (**we will work with your child’s prescribing doctor for medication management)
    • Clinical therapists
    • Registered nurses
    • Case Manager’s
    • Teachers

    Your First Appointment

    During your child’s first visit to Live Well Family Counseling Services, Inc., our team will conduct a one-hour intake assessment by a licensed therapist. We will review your child’s health history and complete a psychiatric evaluation to determine the level of care your child needs. A parent or guardian is required to accompany the child to the appointment.

    By the end of the appointment, you’ll receive a personalized treatment plan based on your child’s needs.

    Treatment

    Treatment programs will typically begin one week after the intake assessment. Before we start any level of treatment, our licensed therapist will review with your child and guardian/ parents about the details of the program. Your child’s treatment program will include approaches that best suit their personality and needs, such as:

    • Individual and group therapy
    • Parent groups and family meetings
    • Safety planning
    • Case Management
    • Daily check-ins

    Programs are organized by age and developmental stage to optimize your child’s group experience. In our partial hospitalization program and intensive outpatient programs, families are encouraged to attend at least one weekly group session to maximize the effectiveness of the treatment program.

    Youth Partial Hospitalization Program- Mental Health

    Our Youth Partial Hospitalization Program- Mental Health only provides treatment when your child is at risk of hospitalization or was recently discharged from an inpatient program. The program offers individualized, intensive outpatient psychiatric treatment.

    Our program optimizes your child’s psychiatric care by allowing for further treatment of symptoms and the associated circumstances at home, school, and in social environments.

    Time dedication: Your child will need to dedicate up to six hours five times a week. The program is about two weeks in length, but may be modified on a case-by-case basis. School excusal required and provided by program.
